Daisy
Petals snowy white and soft,
like silk against my cheek.
You gave me a daisy,
telling me that it holds
secrets of love in its bloom.
I try to read the lines, fine and faint
that live on the daisy petals.
Does the answer to love eternal
hide in the white floral down?
I find I cannot decipher,
the etchings on the daisy.
But when I look into your eyes,
I read them perfectly.
Love hides its secrets poorly.
