Thunder Rings

Deafening thunder rings like hollow oaks
in the garden of your eyes,
as you try to embrace zephyrs
that leave salty condensation on your skin.

You offer aching insight into the hasty memory
of citris lips walking over seashore pebbles,
but can only give small gems of the truth
about the starry night you stole heaven's sparkle.

Lithe and joyful, you fake a debonair heart,
while dancing alone as I weep.
You stole my brilliance with your clandestine karma.
Eventually storms pass, as do memories. Soon I'll forget your name.

(Just a touch of Neruda and a memory of a sly old flame who had a cheating heart)
