Aunt Sherrie's Night In
Nephews! They wore me out last night! Play Play Play...but I confess I love it.
When I got home, Mom was making supper for the boys. She stayed until 7. William was taking at nap. It seems he fell off the monkey bars and hurt his bottom bad enough for the teacher to call Lisa to come get him. Mom said he almost fell asleep on the ride from daycare and once he was inside the house, he took his shoes off and crawled onto my bed.
I had a tuna salad sandwich with dill pickles for supper. Ben had spaghetti. My brother left to go stay with my Uncle for the weekend. Seems some friends of theirs are in town and they're gonna hang out. But I have stern instructions to go get him at noon on Sunday so he can watch the football games.
William woke up as we were eating and came into the den. We were watching Toy Story 2. He had a book in his hand. The Cat in the Hat Cooks. He sat down beside me on the couch and leaned against my arm. I put my plate down and pulled him close, kissing his head and asked if he was ok.
His account of the fall:
"The monkey bars .... My hands wouldn't work, Aunt Sherrie. I went the wrong way and... drip...drip on the rocks."
"You fell, sweetie? You fell off the monkey bars?"
"Uh-huh, I hurt my bottom. Its not happy."
So we read the book and then we watched TV for a while. I let William play his PC games while Ben and I played in my room with cars and stuffed animals. They were in bed by 9. I followed after reading for a few hours.
Then this morning, we had breakfast and watched the Wiggles. Mom came over at 10, so I could get ready for work and watch them until Lisa picked them up at 1. She had some sort of workshop to go to for autism. William was once again on the PC playing his games. His bottom looks better this morning, though it will have a big black bruise for a few days. The swelling and redness was gone. He's topic on and off all morning was the monkey bars and how his hands didn't work.
Mom brought me a silly ghost that sound and touch activated. It looks like a little kid under a white sheet. It says stuff like "Boo... I scared you. Happy Halloween... Treak or Treat" and it giggles like crazy. We put it together and Ben was standing in front of me. I clapped my hands and it went off... poor Ben--he fell over my foot trying to get away. But he got used to it quickly. He tried to get it to play ball with him. The he got a book and said, "Wead to Boo." I watched him for a few minutes. He sat on the floor with his Bug book and turned pages saying, "Boo, bug... bug... bug... boo bug... wed bug.. ellow bug.. bug... boo like bugs?"
Then William had to come investigate. His first question about everything is, "Where did it come from? Walmart? Big Lots? Aldi? Ebay?" He studied the ghost for a min.
Mom said, "William you have to talk to it."
So William stoops down until he's eye level with "Boo" and whispers softly, "I want to talk to you. Let's talk. Do you want to talk to me?"
Ben stood behind William during the conversation and Mom and I were holding back laughter. Ben decides to show William how to get the Boo to talk by yelling, "BOOOOOOO!" It started laughing and giggling which caused William to jump back.
I go finish getting ready...my day face wasn't on. I hear Mom chastising the boys. They were sword fighting the ghost. To be honest, its cute but I won't have it on all the time. I can see me stumbling to the kitchen in the dark at 3 am to get some water and that thing going off... it would end up getting the crap knocked out of it.
So that's my night and morning. At work now, doing some light retouching and chatting with my UK friend Sara. I love chatting with Sara. The dark times are over for her and she is happy and centered. Life is good for her now. That makes me happy, because she is dear to me. Good friends are gold.
Now...back to work... tonight I have the house to myself and it will be a Pamper the Puss night... (wink wink).
