Desperation

I caught the Stephen King movie last night... I doubt it drew people away from American Idol. It was very predictable and disappointing. I truly believe his strength is in the Short Story...but dont' get me wrong...he does tell a good tale, but in my opinion his best work was during his 'hungry' stage--by that I mean during his beginning years. Stories like "IT" and "The Stand"..."Carrie" and "'Salom's Lot" ...just to name a few.

Desperation is one of the few novels, I didn't finish. Finding that girl dead on the doorsteps of the Police sation, really bothered me. As I watched the movie, I realized I probably should have kept reading. That it might have gotten better...but know what? I dont' think so.

My hope for this summer is that the short story collection "Nightmares and Dreamscapes" that TNT is putting together will be much better...if not...they'll ruin a great set of short stories.

You are realistic. You know that looks matter. You just try to make them matter less.

Toothless in Lumberton

The other day, William and Ben were jumping on their mom's bed against her wishes. In mid-jump, William's teeth collided with Ben's head and a loose tooth of William's came out. He wasn't too happy with all the blood, so Lisa called me and asked if I would come by and cheer him up.

So I took a picture of his space. He told everyone who would listen for days that "his tooth became a hole."

David Blaine

He failed...so what?

Just to recap...he spent a week in a human aquarium and tried to break the record for holding a breath underwater..the record was 8.58 minutes. David attempted to do it, while being chained and handcuffed at 8 different points on his body.

I missed the show but have watched the videos.

He failed to break the record and I'm sure after all that hardship he faced with health issues and training by the Navy SEALS, that he was very disappointed.

I think he's a winner, because he challenged himself. Yea, maybe doing a show is a bit much but, according to what I've read, a lot of NYC stopped by and for a while, their minds were taken off our shitty president, high gas prices and the war...while watching a 'freak' do his thing.

Yes, he's a publicity whore, but so are TomKat (Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes), Paris Hilton...to name a few.

I know I could never do what he's attempted. Yes I challenge myself daily, but my challenges aren't life-threatening and I don't have a 'death wish.' But I admire people who are crazy enough to go for whatever they want, even if it means death.

A bit of Ketchup

...................I mean catch up.

I've been so stressed out over work and other stuff that I haven't had time to blog. I apologize to those that I've neglected via email too... I hope by tomorrow to have caught up on correspondence and to have the magazine issue out.

The nephews are doing great. We're into watching Disney shows like "That's so Raven," "Phil of the Future" and "The Suite Life of Zach and Cody." I'm finding that when I'm alone and there's not much on tv that I'll watch the shows if they're on. I'm glad that the boys have graduated from Noggin and those really silly kiddie shows---yet I miss the Wiggles and Of course Sportagus (from Lazytown) will always be my secret husband. We saw a commerical for the show last week and William said, "There's Uncle Sportagus...Aunt Sherrie's Husband."

And Ben... the other day he had gas--the silent deadly kind and I said, "Gee Ben, what gave you gas?" He said, "DOD." I knew he meant "God." I said, "Well, let's pray that he takes it back."

I've been busy at work...trying to get orders out for Mother's Day. Dad's still learning his digital camera and keeps forgetting not to shoot too tight. When he does I have to fix the photos by adding more area on the sides or cropping the tops and bottoms. The lab can't do that for some stupid reason... I should invest in a digital lab--if the equipment wasn't so pricey I would. Sometimes I amazed at how much I've learned over the years about retouching digital images...I can get my programs to do things that the tech support tells me I can't. lol

My romance with Al is going good. He's falling apart physically of late...it's either his diverticulitious or his achilles heel popping out of place or pinched nerves... I pamper him when he's not feeling great...hey...wait a minute...maybe that's why he's falling apart...so he can get the "King" treatment...

As for Survivor... I hate that Shane's voted off...he was fun to watch.
